Eight-time Mr Olympia Lee Haney is a beast. Born in Spartanburg, South Carolina to a devoutly Christian family, Lee Haney has his own television show, "TotaLee Fit with Lee Haney", a joint exercise-spirituality program. As he often says, "train to stimulate, not annihilate", reflecting his personal emphasis on both physical and spiritual growth.
He started training as a teenager, winning his first contest at 19, the 1979 Teenage Mr America. In 1984, Lee placed first at Mr Olympia, and for seven more years he repeated that success. He's one of two eight time winners, the other being Ronnie Coleman. A gentle giant, Lee Haney, now retired, owns two gyms in Atlanta and has a degree in Child Psychology. He spends a lot of his time helping others, a large part of it at his retreat for young people, Harvest House. |
